Timetable for Protocol Approval
Approval of a new protocol usually takes between two and six weeks. The timetable is dependent upon several factors, including the responsiveness of the PI to questions by the IACUC, the schedule of monthly meetings (usually the first Tuesday of the month), and whether the protocol requires full committee review (FCR). When FCR is not needed (about 85% of protocols), protocols are reviewed on a rolling basis.
