Additional Training Opportunities
The following training topics are currently offered upon request through DAR. Training sessions will be scheduled in small group sessions or one-on-one as needed.
- Species-specific training (handling and restraint, injection sites, blood collection, oral gavage [rodents], animal identification)
- Anesthetic and analgesic training (injectable, inhalant, and oral medications)
- Aseptic surgical techniques training
- Methods of euthanasia
- Policy/procedural training
- Facility user orientation (mandatory for new research staff)
- Animal procurement
- Animal health and reporting
- Husbandry equipment (i.e., changing stations, individual ventilated caging units-IVC)
