Helen Valentine
Dr. Helen Valentine is Director of the Animal Care Program (ACP) and a Research Associate Professor in Medical Microbiology, Immunology, and Cell Biology.
Dr. Valentine earned a bachelor’s degree in biology and psychology from New York University, a DVM from Tufts University, and a master’s degree in comparative biomedical sciences from Cornell University, where she also completed her residency program in laboratory animal medicine. She is a Diplomate of the American College of Laboratory Animal Medicine.
Before stepping into this role in 2023, she served as an assistant director of the Division of Animal Resources at Illinois from 2016-2020 and was Director of the Division of Laboratory Animal Medicine at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine (2020-2023).
